How We Brew Seabright House Blend

Seabright House Blend

Home is where the heart is, and our caffeinated hearts are at home at Seabright. Verve’s first roastery lives in the neighborhood of Seabright, located a few miles off of the Pacific Ocean in Santa Cruz, California. Created as our house blend, Seabright embodies Verve’s dedication to coffee art, excellence, and, most importantly, to the community. A cup of Seabright meets people where they are in their relationship with coffee and welcomes them to explore further.

As a standard, Seabright is a Latin American coffee blend. This year’s blend comprises Colombian and Guatemalan coffees. The coffees that make up this blend change yearly depending on the coffee harvest, availability, and flavor. Coffee is a crop subject to natural elements that affect its flavor and other perceived characteristics, making consistent evergreen blends, such as Seabright, a possible challenge. Our ability to create a blend year after year without much deviation, with the same cup profile with different coffee beans requires coffee and roasting acumen developed from years of experience.

Anyone who wants to dip their toes in the pool of specialty coffee should start with tasting Seabright. Its cup profile lends itself to be a crowd-pleaser and easily a community-builder. The subtle chocolate-covered cherry sweetness with nutty middle notes combined with a medium roast lands it right at the heart of the ideal coffee taste. This blend lets us reminisce about the time we sat at our favorite diner with our favorite people. Many have started their specialty coffee journey with Seabright and have learned to appreciate the beauty of unadulterated coffee with the help of its balanced and welcoming flavors. If you’re ready to explore single origin coffees and love Seabright’s taste, we recommend two from our current menu: Colombian El Progreso and Guatemalan La Candelaria.

Seabright is a quick cup staple in our cafes due to its cup characteristics. We invite you to brew this coffee in your home to give yourself a taste of Verve’s welcoming coffee committee. Our preferred brewing method for this blend at home is, unsurprisingly, a countertop coffee maker.
