Sourcing Information: Finca Maputo is owned by Verena and Henry Gaibor. Henry is from Ecuador and Verena is from Switzerland.
Henry and Verena were both medical practitioners, Verena a midwife and general doctor, Henry a surgeon. They met in Burundi while working with the UN and Doctors Without Borders. They purchased the farm about 5 years ago as a retirement project and are absolutely focused on quality.
Maputo is loaded with abundant shade trees to create a bio- diversity for the farm. They grow guava, avocado, a plethora of citrus, plantains and cedar. They dry their coffee on covered raised beds sometimes referred to as parabolic, solar driers or simply a greenhouse.
Their extreme standards for quality are showcased in this beautiful lot of Typica.
